Effectively Addressing Key Issues


The key to instructional leadership is creating capacity not only in those who teach but also in those who guide those who teach.  Working with Mark for a number of years has allowed our school-based and district leadership teams to effectively address such key components of our instructional model as:

  •    using a common language and setting common expectations
  •    reaching a deep understanding of brain functions and how students learn
  •    coaching teachers in the areas of cognitive complexity and rigor 
  •    establishing inter-rater reliability 
  •    providing effective feedback to teachers
  •    instilling confidence in the model for both teachers and administrators


Mark has “taught us how to fish” as we are now ready to move forward utilizing our new internal expertise.​
